Rural Days in Town

Douglas Rural Schools operate on an alternative calendar.
The DRS calendar has built in student contact days for Rural Fridays.  Ten Fridays each school year students meet in Douglas at the High School/Recreation Center and rotate through four stations with their grade level peers.

On Rural Fridays, students have the opportunity to participate in swimming, and additional PE, Science, Social Skills, Music, and Technology sessions
outside of their regular classroom programming.

The day starts with student recognitions at 8:15 am and then students
rotate through teacher lead stations until 11:45.

Parents should see the current alternative calendar in the DRS Downloads section of this website for information on the dates of Rural Fridays.
