About Miss Sparks

Hi, my name is Lindsay Sparks. I am the K-3 teacher at White School in Douglas, WY.
I am originally from Nebraska, however, moved to Wyoming and graduated from Douglas High School. I then moved to Spearfish, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and minors in Art Education and Early Childhood Education from Black Hills State University. I graduated from BHSU in the Spring of 2010 with honors. I then received my first teaching job in Spearfish, teaching 3rd grade.  I spent six years teaching third grade in Spearfish.  While I was there I returned to BHSU to continue my education, as of August 2015 I have completed my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Math Specialist.

Some teachers say that they have known from the time they were little that they wanted to be a teacher, but that was not me. When I was little I wanted to be a Veterinarian, which changed into Big Game Biologist, Marine Biologist, Forensic Scientist, or a Lawyer.  It wasn't until I was into college and had to finally decide what I wanted to study that I began thinking about teaching. When I looked back at my life it is something that has always came naturally for me, as I began babysitting and tutoring at a very young age and enjoyed every minute of it.
