Music at Douglas Rural Schools is comprised of kindergarten through 8th grade.

General elementary music is taught throughout the year to kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. General music provides a broad music education in theory, history, composition. Students explore music through dance, singing, playing percussion/orff instruments, and recorders. Each spring the lower elementary students perform a musical for the Rural Spring Concert.

The upper classes, 4th grade-8th grade, refine their musical skills and knowledge by playing instruments. Their instrumental choices  range from band instruments to piano and guitar. At the end of the year they showcase their skills at the Rural Spring Concert.

All students perform in our annual Christmas Musical. The Christmas Musical is held at the Douglas High School auditorium the last Tuesday before Christmas break! Please come and enjoy all of the work and talent our Rural students have to offer!!
