Douglas, Wyo. (November 4, 2025) - Devon Energy has partnered with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and Converse County School District #1 to bring a mobile science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) Center to Douglas Rural Schools.
“This mobile STEM Center gives students in Douglas Rural Schools access to high-tech STEM equipment they didn’t have before,” said Ryan Mackey, superintendent of Converse County School District #1. “We’re thankful to Devon Energy and the Ripken Foundation for their investment in our students’ futures and in the future of our community.”
The state-of-the-art mobile learning space will serve students at Dry Creek, Moss Agate, Shawnee and White Schools, providing access to a 3D printer, Snap Circuits, Intelino Trains and Bee-Bots.
“The mobile STEM Center is a launchpad for students’ futures,” said William Westler, vice president of the Rockies Business Unit at Devon Energy. “By giving students access to real-world problem-solving tools, they’ll build confidence, strengthen critical thinking and grow in creativity while becoming tomorrow’s leaders.”
The Ripken Foundation provides staff training, curriculum guidebooks and activity kits to support and enhance the new STEM tools. The organization has opened more than 779 STEM Centers nationwide.
“Students benefit from fun, hands-on experiences that engage their minds,” said Steve Salem, president and CEO of the Ripken Foundation. “We’re excited to see how these interactive STEM tools will enhance curriculum and inspire learning.”
